Specialty Instructor training courses provide invaluable tips that will allow you to be the best Instructor you can be, ensuring each of your future students meet all course requirements, while also getting the most out of their PADI Specialty training. You can choose from any of the 27 standard PADI Specialty courses, along with Distinctive Specialty courses your Course Director may offer. Having five Specialty Instructor ratings is a prerequisite for the Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating.

What You Learn

You're on your way to becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with only five PADI Specialty Instructor ratings

You have three ways to become a PADI Specialty Instructor:

  • With a Course Director.
  • Use your experience to apply directly to PADI.
  • Write your own outline.
Prerequisites
  • Renewed PADI Assistant Instructor, PADI Instructor or have completed an IDC or Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program within the past 12 months.
  • Be fit for diving and submit a completed PADI Medical Statement (PDF) signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
